I present you with the Elegant Eleven, playing a 3-1-2-1-3 formation.
Goalkeeper: Lev Yashin (Russia)
May He Rest In Peace.
Defenders:
CB: Sergio Ramos (Spain)
Previously known for his long, shiny hair, Sergio surprised millions by 'slicing' his hair before the 2012 European Championships. I don't mean to exaggerate, but his decision to get rid of the extra hair could possibly be the only reason Spain were successful.
CB: Mats Hummels (Germany)
The tall centre-back (he's 1.92m) is well-known for his ability in the air, but also for his mane. Even though it is often called a 'bedhead' due to its effortless appearance, Mats has shown that he is able to make an effort (with good results). It also ties in nicely with his seemingly permanent facial hair.
CB: Paolo Maldini (Italy)
Known (and loved) by millions, Maldini is a one-club man with two known hairstyles (everyone's thankful for the change from this). Little-known fact: It was actually his hair that helped Milan keep so many clean sheets.
Midfielders:
CDM: Miguel Veloso (Portugal)
Miguel's spot in this team should never have been in doubt, since he is known for his fabulous hairstyles. Even the Russian cold can't stop him from the fabulousness.
CM: Andrea Pirlo (Italy)
Andrea's been rocking the same style for years, with good reason. It's a classic and timeless style, only improved by the new Chuck Norris beard.
CM: David Beckham (England)
No list of anything regarding footballer hairstyles could ever be complete without Becks. Whether it's one for best hairstyles (see the above photo for a good example) or for worst (like this). Becks is one of the oldest (living) players on this list, but he could possibly be the most fabulous.
CAM: Mesut Özil (Germany)
Mesut recently made the change from his medium, shoulder-length hair to the new, shorter look. He is known for switching styles almost as often as he assists during matches (THAT'S A LOT). He always keeps up with fashion, proving that his vision isn't only constricted to the pitch.
Forwards:
LW: Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
Who else would be the Left Wing? CR7 is as trendy as he is talented, so he would never be caught dead with an outdated hairstyle (unless he intends on bringing it back, which would be acceptable and highly effective).
ST: Mario Gomez (Germany)
Yet another no-brainer. If you have ever seen Mario on the field, you definitely agree that he deserves his spot in this line-up. Mario is always classy and looks as though he was born to wear a suit or at least a shirt.
RW: Marco Reus (Germany)
Another German on this list (must be something in the water that makes them so fabulous). Seriously, he's the 4th one on here!
Marco's been rocking the same style for a while now, but he does deserve some credit. He had it a while before it took off. Let's hope he can keep it up.
